Probably one of the best Valencian paella you could have. Ignore the tourist traps in the center of valencia. this is the spot.

Great food and eventually good service - key word is \eventually\. We were greeted initially by a waiter who gave a frosty reception after some confusion about the number of people who made the booking. He thought it was 1 when it was really 7. I understand mistakes get made but the instant reaction was that it was obviously our fault. They then rearranged tables whilst the first waiter glared angrily at us. Most of us were Spanish and spoke Spanish but the glaring waiter spoke to us in Valencian (despite, like all Valencians, being able to speak Spanish perfectly) until we said we didn't understand. We came to the restaurant for Paella, which was on the menu, but were then told when we tried to order it (by the glaring waiter) that it was silly to order it because \Paella is for lunch\ and were offered it in a sandwich which us tantamount to going to Brick lane and being offered Chicken Tikka Masala in a sandwich. After being told this we were at the point of leaving when the owner came and smoothed things over by taking our order for Paella and bringing us honestly quite good paella and later free champagne which was great of her. We later learned that the glaring waiter was in fact the owner's son. I have worked in customer service and as a waiter and I have seen every level of incompetence and bad service - but I have never seen a staff member go out of his way to make customers feel totally unwelcome, even with the rudest customers imaginable. We later had a few words with the glaring waiter who tried to dismiss his remarks as \jokes\. It's a shame to mark a place so low when it was only one member of staff to blame when eventually we got good service, However it equally cannot be ignored as we were very nearly at the point of leaving which is a point I have never come to. I really hope this guy gets his act together, forgets any prejudices he has towards Castellónos (or Brits) or chooses another career.
