Inexpensive home cooking and friendly service in small, typical Portuguese restaurant.

Value for money home cooking. This is where local Portuguese people lunch. It's inexpensive food the way mum prepared it. Don't come here for a culinary experience, come for a good meal at an unbeatable price.

We were tempted by this restaurant because of the chicken grilling on a BBQ out back. It was super busy with a locals birthday party and we were told to come back in an hour - this was easily done with a stroll around the town - once we went back we were told to sit at a table that was still full from the last persons meal, but we didn’t mind at all. They were really busy and we were just glad we would get to eat there. We waited a while for service and it wasn’t particularly friendly (I work in hospitality and know what it’s like to feel swamped so didn’t mind) All of this didn’t matter though when the chicken and chips came out. It was the tastiest chicken we’ve ever eaten and only 5 So if you’re expecting special treatment or an incredible experience maybe try somewhere else, but if you want a restaurant where the locals eat, and some amazing grilled chicken stop by here.

TYPICALLY PORTUGUESE My wife and I happened upon this rural delight where fresh fish, amongst other dishes is a local speciality. My wife had sea bass with lots of locally produced vegetables. I had a steak all washed down with a local wine. 20. Very good value and nicely cooked and presented. A great find.

There are no words to describe our experience at this restaurant. We were here for lunch. We went for Cod fish plate which was awful. The fish was definitely not fresh, it was smelling and very salty. I don't understand how the others rated this restaurant as exceptional traditional food. I am not recommending this place to eat.
