The female staff today on the floor has a disgusting customer care attitude. I wander if she is the staff that customers complain about. WHS should let her go on a training on Customer care.

The female staff where honestly the rudest staff members I have ever seen. One lady in particular, who very loudly exclaimed to an elderly lady who was just trying to help a situation, was not working the shop floor and was quite frankly appalling. After basically shouting at this elderly lady about an issue that was not even relevant to her (a dog had been sick and this elderly lady was just trying to alert a staff member, it was not her dog), she stormed around the shop complaining, huffing and very rudely talking to collegues about customers. As someone who works in customer service myself, I was baffled.

Suddenly changed their hours to closing at 4pm. No prior notice, no indication online. These maybe difficult times but how are people supposed to get to the post office before 4pm when they at work?!!

Visited today to replenish art supplies for our daughter. Throughout the 10 minutes we were in there the staff were either moaning about the lack of one-way system in the store (a little initiative would suggest one of them creating one but apparently eating sweets was higher on the priority list) A woman who was trying to find the right size envelope for her item was told off multiple times for touching said envelopes. Her plea for help was brashly refused, being told that that would mean the staff touching the envelopes too. We were curious to know how on earth these envelopes were stocked if no-one was allowed to touch them?! A man requested a post office service only to find himself also being told off. “We’re in a pandemic!” the staff member barked at him and then rolled her eyes when he enquired about the poster. Every person coming near the door to enter was shouted at to stay out. I wish I was exaggerating. It was so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving before we’d found everything we wanted. Approaching the end of the aisle I ended up asking the staff member in question if we were able to move or whether we were in the wrong as well. Pandemic or not, had I ever seen a member of staff behaving as they did today they would in the least be put on a disciplinary. The future of WH Smith will depend on where the public choose to spend their money when all of this blows over. I most certainly will not be setting foot in there again.

Extremely rude person at door today. Will never be going back to this shop. I will take my custom elsewhere. Head office take note!
