I think my most favourite hiking course in the world so far. From the Windermere Ferry terminal, you can walk through to the hill top (although you can easily go by busses). You will see herd of sheep and wild rabbits too. I went 2012 and 2017, but nothing has changed in the nature... that's what I love about Lake district... and National Trust (thank you for protecting amazing nature!)

Really pretty garden, it’s quite small but we didn’t mind at all. You should try book in advance, if you go towards the end of the day they may let in a few people if it’s quiet though. They have a really nice coffee stand there with seating. The shop is sweet with little Beatrix Potter themed gifts. A lovely little visit in a gorgeous little village.

A beautiful and intimate step back into the past. This is run by dedicated, enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly staff, all of whom want you to have a special time. The Trust has maintained original furnishings and ornaments, creating a truly authentic experience - one which we look forward to repeating when we are next in the Lakes.

Was completely inspired and greatful to have visited Hill Top. The house was unfortunately closed but the garden was open. I felt that the gardens were a little un loved and needed some attention. We had just had a beautiful spring and summer and the beds were overgrown and needed cutting back. The orchard was overgrown and needed mowing. It was a wet day and the guttering on the house was leaking down the house walls and the window seals could have done with a touch up to prevent further rot damage. The garden took 5 minutes to walk around and I felt that you could have seen more of the farm itself but no access and shut off. I hope to visit back in the spring and see some changes.

Beautiful cottage, left just as it was when Beatrix Potter lived there. It's fairly small and so doesn't take long to go round. The garden is also fairly small. The guides are very friendly and informative. The car park isn't large and is a couple of hundred yards away. You buy your ticket at the building there and are given a time slot to be at the cottage for. When you get to the cottage, they call you in at the appropriate time.
