Inside the castle unfortunately closed due to Covid-19 but the grounds and the cafe were open for the public. Car park is crazy expensive, but hey National Trust need to raise money some how. The privately run cafe was also insanely priced however, a tiny coffee and slice of cake came to an eye watering price. The surroundings of the castle are beautiful as well as the castle itself, will happily visit again to see the inside but really not worth a visit at the moment with the castle closed.

Nice castle and beautiful views of lake windermere. Short walks round the castle, ale sure you walk down to the lake to get some good views. It's national trust, so parking is free for members otherwise 5 and the parking money goes to help maintain the castle, the same as national trust membership. I would recommend joining national trust.

Beautiful Neigothic Castle, amazing views of the suroundings and Windermere lake, the estate is full of paths and trails to walk and e joy nature, they have as well a child pkay area. Car park is a bit overpriced, way overpriced to be honest. You want people to come and visit and you charge them 5.5 for 2 hours, a ripoff if you ask me. Apart from that, the castle is amazing and it’s worth a visit.

The castle itself was closed when we visited but still well worth the trip. The cafe is open serving really good food (I'd recommend the soup) and the grounds alone are worth the visit. It's about an hour and a half to walk from the car ferry. The walk there is nice, accessible and pretty flat plus, you follow the edge of Lake Windermere so the views are lovely.
