American Leak Detection customer service is really poor. I am a property manager, so I deal with service providers routinely. With ALD I was treated rudely from start to finish; apparently it is unacceptable to ask a question about about a bill. They quoted one rate billed another. When I asked for an itemized invoice I was told, "we don't bill, we get paid". After paying them, I had to go to their office to get a copy of the report and the invoice. The manager came into the lobby and told me, "oh no, we are not talking to you." When, after being required to demonstrate that, via a receipt, I had paid them, they finally produced an invoice and a report. The invoice had a billing rate 20% higher than quoted. When I brought it to their attention, they said they charged more because they decided to send two techs instead of one...in their world they make those decisions for you, don't inform you, expect you to accept it and like it as well. Only, after another discussion did they agreed to bill me the quoted rate. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION and don't expect to treated with any respect.

Others have mentioned price changes and for me it was 3 times. Called for a quote and was given a price, called later to set up appointment and was given a higher price but went with it and called the next day to confirm and was told a higher price again so canceled. The lady was extremely rude and very unprofessional. This place is a joke and now I see why the the other store was closed. The other bad reviews are no joke and I seen that before they got my money. BEWARE

I called them out for a leak in my upstairs tub. While on the phone making the appointment, I asked if they could also fix a dripping shower head in my other restroom. The female said I would need to asked the plumber at my scheduled appointment. At appointment time, a friendly young man cut a hole in my ceiling and located the first leak. However, he said he could not fix it but could make a referral for estimate. I then asked about my second shower and was told, I’m a slab guy not a plumber. He indicated I needed to call a plumber for that. Bottom line, they charged thier standard rate of 225.00 to cut a hole in my ceiling and say “there is your leak but I can’t fix it”! Today, I had a local plumber out. He looked at the initial leak and repaired it by placing a new drain line on the upstairs tub. He then repaired the second dripping shower for a total charge of 180.00. Lesson learned, If u have an issue call a local plumber.

I was initially referred to this company by my Structual Engineer for a static test in my home. At the initial test I did not have the funding to go forward with the work and required an additional test later to ensure the situation had not changed. They gave me a rough daily estimate for jackhammering through my slab and replacing several feet of sewer line throughout the house. They more or less stuck to that (the average was almost exactly what they quoted with some days higher and some lower) When we realized the work was more extensive than initially expected they helped me get my insurance company involved to help pay for the additional work. They were prompt and respectful during the several week endeavor .Every morning I received a phone call or text(I prefer texts) telling me when they would arrive, and at the end of the day I received a phone call or text with the total due and work that was done, as well as additional problem spots discovered. This endeavor took several weeks and they maintained the same two workers throughout the process. I will recommend them to others in the future .

Paid my bill in person in the office and had no issues. Two months later I get a call about the bill being due. I return to the office to settle this and talk to the owner and he is ridiculous and said we have to pay again. The place will steal from you beware and do not pay in cash. Pay with credit card or you will have to pay twice.. SCAM BEWARE!
