Albert Cuyp is my neighborhood market, in ormal\ times is full of tourists, nowadays towards the weekend I see families doing their groceries and grabbing a byte. I love the atmosphere and beside the number of people I yet feel safe cruising around.

Best market place in Amsterdam. Good deals, relatively cheap as for Amsterdam. Fresh, quality products. Everyone will find something for themselves. Love it. Recommend it to everyone! Everyone who is visiting Amsterdam, this is MUST SEE on map of Amsterdam.

It's a good market, on a very long pedestrianised street with the metro station at the west end. The market is a popular tourist attraction so there are many stalls selling street food, souvenirs, and clothing. That being said, it is still possible to buy fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish at the market, so some of the authentic market remains. The market street is also lined with shops and restaurants, so keep an eye out behind the many stalls for other places to visit.

If you're walking around this market and want a special coffee, find the stand where they have Arabic coffee and ask them to put cardamon in it. It should be heated on sand because that's the way it is done in the desert where you may not have (or want) a heating element available. The food is lovely and vegetarians will find a wide variety of treats.
