Porters is a first class establishment. They offer full processing services as well as hide and taxidermy options. They don’t do actual taxidermy on site but have quality, dependable work done through their outfit. They have been in business for years and are a respectable group. Just like ANY other business they make money. If you bring in an alligator for processing they will be forthright and let you know all the expenses associated with having an alligator processed. There are no hidden fees and they are honest people. Just like getting a deer processed. If you drop one off, don’t expect to pick up a free bag of deer meat once it’s done. I would trust them with all of my alligators and have been dealing with them for 13 years. If you are anywhere from Matagorda to Louisiana and need a gator processor, these are the people for you. I will continue to use them for as long as I trap alligators. They are great supporters of their community and all around good, honest people. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. As good as it gets.

Was recommended to use Porter's to get my gators processed and skinned from my guide. I left one gator with them and took the other home to do my self. Was told I had to pay 200 processing fee. They only accept cash. Wasn't told anything else of when things would be ready. Send them an email a few days later and still have no response so gave them a call and he tells me now I should have been given the meat the day I dropped off the gator. Also tells me now, a week later that I have to pay 5 per pound for the meat if I want it back. He says he is in the business to make money off the meat. Also tells me that a 200 lb alligator will only yield 40lbs of meat. That would mean you only yield 20 percent of the total weight. Which seems low considering I yielded 65 from a slightly smaller gator, and I'm not a professional gator processor but yielded more meat then this guy is claiming to have.
