Fanstastic historical site that has been well maintained. The park rangers are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Ranger Mi Spencer. The cemetery is well kept and a hallowed space. The POW Museum was still closed due to COVID when we went, but I look forward to going back once it’s reopened.

My Dad is there, my best friend and brother-in-law, and both parents-in-law. This solemn ground means so much to me. I recommend watching Ted Turner's Andersonville before going and George C. Scott's The Andersonville Trial after your visit. There were horrific things that happened here, make sure you visit the prison site, The P.O.W. Museum, and the National Cemetery.

01/21/21 Normally 5 star. But closed.. Well, Well, Well. The government has the museum shut down. No social distance, no mask. LOCK DOWN NO VISITATION!!! All these federal workers sitting at home drawing salaries. But we did snoop & plunder on foot. Also we watched them remove & replace veteran headstones. Totally different, less efficient way here in America versus the way they perform in Africa and Europe. Only thing in common was the nylon string to insure proper alignment.

The museum was not open, however the experience was eye opening. You really feel the intensity of the prison and the stories, as you walk the grounds. 13k Union Soldiers died and laid to rest here. It truly is an experience!

My brother was buried at this site. The over all site was just great. Our 83 year old mother of 13 was unable to walk that distance. I was allowed to drive around and use the ramp after asking. I'll say great service. As for restrooms different story. They had 1 male and 1 female. So with such an large family and friends we could have used more restrooms Thanks for the great service.
