We live outside of Dallas, but have a condo on Front Beach Road, in Panama City Beach.
Through a long story, we ended up bringing our daughter and son-in-law’s dog, Remy, who had just given birth, with us on our week at Thanksgiving, from Dallas to PCB.
Mama had given birth on Tuesday, November 17th, to five healthy pups. She & the pups did great on the 12 hour ride down and got settled in fine, on Friday, November 20th.
By Monday, Mama wasn’t doing very well, wasn’t eating, had diarrhea, and was panting. I thought she might be having an issue with low calcium. I tried to take care of things on my own, and she actually seemed better, by Wednesday morning, but something in my gut told me to get her checked. A friend of mine, who lives here, recommended her local vet, Dr. Bo, at North Bay Animal Hospital. After talking with them on the phone, they referred us to Animal Care Center, which was only five miles from us.
They made a 11:30 AM appointment for us, Wednesday morning, November 25th. After drawing labs, it was determined that her liver function levels were very elevated and that they needed to keep her.
We were given a comprehensive treatment plan, with a price estimate. We paid half down, and left our sweet Remy, in their hands.
They were available to speak to us, over the phone about Remy, and give us updates. Everyone was calm, professional and courteous.
Remy was discharged today, November 27th, and she was excited to see her puppies!!
Dr. Natalie Torkelson was very helpful, explained everything to us, and was available via telephone for updates. She personally spoke to us, at discharge, and was very through and accommodating.
We are headed back to Dallas tomorrow with Remy and her five pups, all thanks to the Animal Care Center!! I would recommend them, without hesitation!!
Panama City Beach is very lucky to have such a stellar facility in their city!!
