Great little store. Good produce and other general store items are available but the main reason to go is the selection of many non standard meats such as bison, venison, elk, camel, ostrich, duck, goose and others. Prices are better in store than other retailers so if you can drive to stock up it's worth the trip. Staff was helpful in describing cooking methods and about the various cuts, and what's best for your planned use. Coolers and ice are available if you need a way to keep it things frozen or cool while driving. Both packaged and fresh deli items are available. Our recommendations would be bison ribeye, elk tomahawk or chili, and the various burger options. Prices in photos won't be accurate, blotted out what I could.

I've been having Blackwing meats at my aunts for years and was usually pretty pleased. Finally ordered some of my own. Since there's a 5lb shipping minimum, which is understandable, it can get expensive. So I spent almost 100. I left most of it in the refrigerator to thaw and opened up the meat drawer 2 days later to see the bottom filled with blood. I understand there's blood when you butcher animals, but I had hoped it'd stay in the bag. I'll let others order from now on and just go to the local shop. It's not worth it.

I have ordered from this place a few times but not since 2015. This recent experience was the worst online experience I have ever had. I placed my order May 5th with a 15 day shipping commitment. I just received the order today June 11. That’s about 35-36 days. To top it off, despite what it says on the top of the web site where it states .......we have all the items in stock it will just take longer than normal to ship....don’t believe it they don’t have everything they sell. It’s deceptive. Additionally, I was charged for items not shipped. I had to call for the 3rd time after ordering to get credited for the items charged and not shipped. If you’re thinking of ordering from these people I would recommend finding another place. This one has a lot of excuses for delays and not fulfilling orders. Buyer beware.
