Fun destination, especially if your start is Black Diamond Mines. Trail and area are beautiful, but most people will need to plan accordingly for time as the trek out to the tunnel and back to the BDM staging area can be more than a few hours. Hydrate!

Cool tunnel goes back about 200 feet to this gate, and very humid in tunnel. Small singletrack up to the tunnel entrance from main fire trail. Light is recommended, not required but can be creept walking straigh into darkness until you find the gate Watch your head while inside so you dont smash it on the low rocks, they hurt. In the pics you can see from the gate inside tunnel to the outside at the entrance to tunnel.
Great 4 mile round trip hike, wonderful scenery, not for the super claustrophobic.
Awesome tunnel, like 400 feet deep. Its just amazing, creepy cool, scary fun, and exciting. Easy to get to for people in semi-good shape.
Awesome little cave. It is open, and not gated. It goes back into darkness. You'll have to crouch down a little to keep from hitting your head, but it is definitely open to explore inside. It goes a few hundred feet in and then hits a locked gate.
There's a quaint little snack bar if you take a right just before the end of the tunnel, but the beer is not as cold as it could be and the service leaves a lot to be desired.
mysterious place this tunnel is.. you can walk around 200ft in but be careful they are rattle snakes that live in and around the tunnel... but other than that your solid
