I called a week ago to find out prices and to hire some tables, chairs and linens. I then discovered this week that I wouldn't need the tables and chairs and called Apple Catering Hire to part cancel the order. I was told it was all or nothing and that hiring linens was incumbent on ordering tables and chairs (why chairs - did they think they I was going to drape the tablecloths and napkins over the chairs for heaven sake)? I have hired various items from them over the last 7 years, never have I been given such lame excuses before. The man answering the phone was not the brightest and couldn't see that what he was saying was idiotic to say the least. I have checked their terms and conditions - there is nothing in the small print to say that if you order linens you have to order tables and chairs. I will not be using them again unless the owner provides a written apology.
