This was my first time at this particular restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was awesome. The owner of the restaurant stopped by our table and introduced himself to us. If you are looking for a small intimate restaurant to enjoy, I recommend this one. I definitely will be back.

This is an absolute find in Shirlington Village. I think the food is world class, but they describe it only as modern American. The wine is a first rate value all around, with a great by the glass list and a full bottle list. Some restaurants mark up their wine by 400% or serve no name wine, but not here. Mark ups are reasonable and selection is very inventive. Everyone is very friendly and I feel very welcome as a customer. I am thrilled to have found this restaurant and I will be back!

Another excellent experience! It is a real pleasure to find a restaurant where everything works ... the food, service, environment all contribute to a real pleasure. The Curious Grape has it all. Highly recommended.

Food was excellent however portion size was small. I ate the beet salad in 3 bites and the spinach salad in 5 bites. Fish portion was a good 6 oz... Was delicious however I left still hungry

Our previous experience there (1 year ago) was excellent. What a difference a year makes! The wait staff was unhygienic with long dirty fingernails and generally looked like they skipped a day for the shower. They must have a new chef, because the food was terrible. My wife ordered a rare dish and I ordered medium, both were well done and completely tasteless. The salad was disappointing and even the cheese plate was mediocre. I would give it two stars if it wasn't that expensive. We've visited in the past to celebrate and treat ourselves, but there was nothing redeeming this visit. We both agreed it will be our last visit.

This restaurant is a gem in Shirlington. Most people do not take the trouble to turn the corner on South Quincy past the Carlyle to investigate this venue, which is only 50 yards from the main street. What a mistake! This is clearly the best restaurant in Shirlington. It has a cafe that is open at 7 am and a wine store that has the best wines under 20! Worth the trip!!!

My new favorite place in Shirlington! I've been multiple times and have never been disappointed. They have fun daily/weekly tastings of wine, beer, chili or cheese. They usually charge 3 for the tasting but you then either get 3 off or a % discount on any bottles purchased AND 10% off your food and drink bill if you stick around to eat/drink. I've taken one of their seminars as well that was fun, educational, and delicious. LOVE Cheryl and her Thursday night tastings. She reminds me of the fun, sassy Aunt that we all love to go visit. The food is a tad pricey but you can get 1/2 portions of most of the menu items. I also love that they make small desserts for 4 that are just enough to hit the sweet tooth craving but don't leave you feeling over stuffed. Update: The cafe is a great place to study during non-dining hours (until 5pm M-F and weekend mornings) and they have free wifi.
