Terrible/non existent customer service. I’ve been waiting at least 2 weeks for a response on how I can take an online proctored exam and schedule it. Ive sent out a bunch of emails and did several calls but there seems to be no one on the other end to help or at least to give me a response. I have very little time left to complete the course and I would’ve been half way done if I had this situation figured out. I can’t seem to get a refund at this point and switch schools... what a waste of money and time

I did the Online Education for a month and a quarter. This past Saturday, I passed the Texas Real Estate Exam. I took the exam at only age 19. Really...I was committed to studying hard for the exam. I thank Kaplan for making it possible.

This school is extremely unorganized and not helpful whatsoever. I purposely scheduled live classes for more of a “hands on” learning experience so I could ask questions and make sure I get it 100%. It was the complete opposite of that. The class I attended only had about 8 other people in there and they were all home owners and have been through the process, unlike me. The instructor assumed we all knew what the vocabulary was/meant. Every time I asked a question it seemed very rushed and no throughly explained, leaving me still clueless. The classes are not really “live”. You go to your class and the instructor reads books to you while you fill in The blanks. You don’t take any quizzes or test in class. It is not interactive at all. I was never given instructions as what to do after you finish live classes. I had to call Kaplan and ask for myself. You have a bunch of online assignments to do. Like A TON. They give you nearly a 700 page book you have to read and answer questions to after every chapter and you have to get 100%, if not you have to keep retaking them. And after that you have to read like 4 other books to read. The books are all over the place and don’t get straight to the point. Very hard to follow. I’m about 3/4 done with the 700 page book and I’m so over it. I still have the 4 other books to read, and I only have 2 months left of the 6 months they give you. I’ve decided to go ahead and switch to Champions Real Estate Courses. My co-worker went through their program and I’ve heard nothing but positive things. I also just got off the phone with Champions and they confirmed with me that the courses are 100% in class and there is no deadline. Wish I would have done my research a bit more before choosing Kaplan. The reviews say it all.

Do not buy this course. It is a waste of money. I'm taking the online course, if you can call it that. They pretty much just send you the books and wish you luck. They have no notes to study from so you have to read the textbooks beginning to end and that's if you purchase the books if not you have to print a copy of it. They have a online study session on only once a week on Wednesday other then that they offer you no help. Every chapter has one interactive question bank before the unit test but it only works on a computer so you can't use your phone or tablet for the course. Lastly The unit exams they offer are solely base on concepts while the questions on the proctored exams are based on scenarios. I felt completely set up when taking the test. This course it not designed to help anyone pass a test and they are highly over priced.

Not starting out on a great foot with Brightwood. I received all of my text books and work books that go with the OnDemand training for my Real Estate License. The first Book Modern Real Estate Practice : The text book I received is the 17th Edition, the Reading Guide for the OnDeman course is based on the 19th Edition and must be read or printed off the internet and will not be sent to me per Brightwood. This book is almost 700 pages. I am so very angry. I have contacted the lead instructor per the young man in customer support. Not sure what good that will do me.
