Been going out of my way to come here for sausages for years. When my dad comes to town he says “where can we get those great Chinese sausages?” and we go to Prime. The garlic and cheese sausages are my favorite. They also sell alcohol, random vegetables, and decent sides. Prime butcher!

We go out of our way to support local businesses. My wife rushed to reach the front door of Prime before the official closing time. The staff inside saw and heard her. They just refused to open the already-locked door and do their jobs. When someone arrives at the store before closing, you serve them. She would have been quick and respectful of their time. But to be ignored at the doorstep is just an insult. Post the time when a customer can no longer enter the shop. If your closing time is actually 5:45 or 5:30 and not 6:00, post those hours. Not serving a customer who arrives before closing time makes no sense. As it stands, we will avoid your business.
Hands down the best butcher shop in all of Boston, the guys behind the counter are always happy to help and seem very knowledgeable. It's hard to not smile everytime you walk in and see the delicious cuts of meat and the employees all enjoying what they do. 10/10.
Prime is a little out of the way for me. But I always try to make it there to buy my meats. Everyone who works here is super helpful, and chipper. The quality of the meat is excellent and the prices are fair. I love that butcher shops are making a "come back". I love being able to ask questions about how to prepare something, ask for specific cuts etc. And as someone who is passionate about food, it is nice to feel good about where my grocery dollar is going. I have been to a few butcher shops in the area and this is by far the best! Best selection, quality and knowledge. The store is really nice as well. I always feel good about my experience there. I highly recommend it.
Be careful and inspect the meat before you buy here! They will sell you meat even if it's a little bit....borderline? I was sold a piece of pork belly that was basically rotting. I didn't look at it because I was in a rush. Went to use it the next day and my entire refrigerator smelled of rotting meat. Not cool. I had even noticed that some of their other meat looked a bit old.
Prime butcher is a great establishment, but there are some minor problems with the place. Though all the meats are very tasty and the section is expansive, the meats are often over priced. The staff is friendly enough but often they seem very uncommitted to their jobs and aren’t that helpful. Overall though, Prime is a easy and tasty butcher to stop by at.
I've been going to PRIME since I moved to Arlington, around 3 years ago. I make custom orders a few times a year, and they are always helpful and professional. The staff has a great sense of humor and have always made me feel welcome. I can't recommend the quality of their food or service enough. Even with large, last minute orders (because my planning isn't always 100% the best), they have delivered. And when the holidays get near they have checked with me to see if I need anything, which is just a great extra touch.
I've been to Prime intermittently for groceries - pricey, but high quality stuff - but this was my first time stopping in for a sandwich. The chicken caesar wrap is ENORMOUS, and packed with food rather than having a lot of filler. It quite possibly could have made two meals, but I skipped breakfast. Staff was wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to be having a good time. I'll have to drop by more often!
