Great place to stay in Ely! Easy walk on a beautiful trail to the International Wolf Sanctuary. The very friendly and thoughtful camp host mowed a fresh path to the paved trail to the wolf sanctuary for us the day after we arrived, even with a cast on her leg! We had read previous reviews mentioning a difficult personality but in our experience had nothing but positive interactions. Full hookups with world-class power pedestals in the RV sites. The row nearest the highway were pull-through sites, while the middle row are back-in sites, and the back row near the forest seemed to be in some degree of disrepair, but would be ok for primitive/tent camping. Spacing between sites wasn't too tight, and the campground has plenty of green space around it. There were some fast-growing green weeds around the gravel pad of our site (hey, it's July in MN!), but 10 minutes with a camp shovel took care of them easily enough. Some of the other sites had low/mowed weeds on the gravel pads as well, but I took that as a sign that the owners/management didn't want to blast chemical pesticides all over the campsites, which was fine by me. Overall had a very peaceful and friendly stay and would definitely return to this great base-camp for the Boundary Waters region.

Nice clean quiet campground, big rig friendly. Stayed several times as a vendor for Blueberry Festival and have taken a couple extra days to enjoy the area. East in/out, friendly staff.

NOT an RV RESORT! I have stayed in man-camps that had better host! The place is not in a condition that would demand the resort pricing that is charged. The lady that runs the place (when she is there) isn’t someone who understands the hospitality industry. She enforces rules with a heavy hand (we had a rug out that was on the grass, BUT lets her dog run through occupied campsites OFF LEASH. Guess rules don’t apply to her dog. The park will only accept online reservations via ReserveAmerica.com where you pay a service charge. There is a steep charge for late checkout, 20 first hour, 10/hour after. The office is never open and the WiFi refuses to connect (I have an IT background), positive note is there is good cellular coverage. The clubhouse is locked and the chairs around it are locked down so use is not an option. This could be a nice park but not until it is sold to someone who understand hospitality, I will not stay again, will drive to State Park. We didn’t want to stay and extra minute! This business is more interested in how much money they can extract than servicing their customers.

Health hazard, exposed sewer drains, broken, keep a tight leash. needs maintenance. Far from camper friendly. Does the owner Val know? Does the city know? All the positive reviews you can tell are by management themselves. It is up to the RV owner to pack down pads. Picture of manager demanding 20.00 dollars. 4 mins to eleven, they would have made it in time if she did not come and harass them and complain on how they parked their car. If you want to be accused of things and rubbed the wrong way, here you go.. this park is going to fold just like all the other properties. Hope this goes up for auction soon, it could be a great park with right owner and management.

We camped here last summer and here again this year. It is conveniently located on the outskirts of town. We like the large level sites with full hookups. There is a large lot behind us with a well kept trail that connects to the main walking and biking trails around town and lake. Sheila is very helpful and friendly. This is our go to campground when we are in the area.

Sheila is an angry elf. Sheila (the manager) is super rude. There are more rules than amenities. If you can, I'd say avoid this place (it's really your only option in Ely and they know it)

POOR MANAGEMENT!!!! I had reservations for 2 spots in September 2020. The campground decided to not open for this season due to the COVID . I can understand that but they just sent a email from there reservation company (Reserve America) on 4/24/2020 with no explanation and keeping 8 for each spot. The gal that answers the phone at the campground ( after calling 4 times) could not care less and acts like I canceled. I don't think I should be paying for them canceling my vacation stay 5.5 months ahead of time.

Easily fit our large fifth wheel. No campfires per the city. Spendy. Two nights for four people in a pull through was 115. Close to town. No frills. It’s a place to stay if you need it. All the rest of the campgrounds were pretty full, not this one...
