Our mission is to promote access to justice, good governance and lobbying and advocate gender responsive policies for women and children. The desire of AWLAHURIO is to reach disadvantaged populations and make legal assistance tangible for all. AWLAHURIO adresses the development challenge of inequality, specifically gender inequality, within the legal system. At Awlahurio we aim to create a just society that addresses the gender differences in the legal system, with an emphasis on advocating for women and children. The desire of AWLAHURIO is to promote community education on issues surrounding the legal system in Arusha, Tanzania and advocating for human rights wherein women and children know their natural born legal rights. Primarily we seek to educate on the social disorganization of communities and how creating more of a collective whole can allow for us to promote equality of opportunity and both economic and social individual freedoms. Furthermore, the project gives women and children a voice in the legal system and easier access to legal aid. With easier access to legal representation these inherently discriminated populations are able to voice their desires for freedom and achieve them through the assistance of AWLAHURIO legal aid and human rights agency in Arusha, Tanzania.
