Warm, clean and beautiful station.

I rated this 5 stars because this is, in my opinion, the most beautiful station (in terms of interior design) I've ever been in Japan. The warm and minimalist aesthetics of its modern hallways adorned by the wooden walls give it more of a museum vibe than a station. Students stay in the evening hours to study at station hallways, enjoying the relaxed and calm atmosphere. Commuters perhaps give respect to the superb architectural space by behaving in a quiet subdued manner. The elegant finish extend even at the square fronting the station and mall. The wide, unobstructed vista of the square complements the aesthetics of the station's interiors.
I recommended you to visit the garden on the backside of the station. It was design properly by well-known landscape architects
A very nice and modern station. There is a tourist information in the station. Very spacious resting and waiting area with table and chairs. Students study there.
Asahikawa's main station, it have brand-new waiting hall and colorful LCD display for train's information
