I came here on Saturday, Feb 9, 2019, knowing that it is no.2 in Hokkaido in terms of Winter Festivals. I chose to see it first, even though I passed the O-dori venue of the Sapporo Snow Festival. My decision was strategic or I would have taken the view that it was not worth all the hassle to come here from Sapporo!

More spacious than odori park.. as always there a room for improvement..keep it up a good work..credit to organizer
Such a good experience, the workmanship that went into these sculptures is incredible. The first prize was so detailed, I don't know how they manage to keep the snow compact with so much detail. The huge snow building was exactly as expected, huge. There were many stalls with different food options. And the night included fireworks as well.
Visited in mid Feb. The amount of snow and snowfall really make it a great experience. There are many snow sculptures invluding the large one near the asahibashi bridge. I liked this better than the Sapporo festival cuz of the less urban feel ( due to a lot of snow i guess) & the ice sculptures near the station.
This festival absolutely blew me away! They had an opening show with fireworks and projections that you don't want to miss. The amount of detail put into every artwork is incredible. I've included some examples of what I saw in this review.
Nice!! The snow in asahikawa is one of the most beautiful. There are snow showers almost everyday.
We were tipped off about the snow festival here from the people at a local hostel. Probably wouldn't have heard about it otherwise, but it was an amazing experience. They had a massive performance on a stage made entirely of snow. They also had lots off food booths and other activities.
Lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The snowmobile rafting was great
