It doesn't look like a fall. But it's a beautiful river. \Sandan\ means three steps in Japanese so \Sandan Falls\ means that the river has three steps. I stopped here on my way to drive from Sapporo to Biei. The shapes of rocks and the cliff around the river look so cool. I visited here in October. Leaves turn color from green to red, yellow and brown also look great. It's worth visiting.

Impressive waterfalls. We stopped off on a drive from Furano to Sapporo. Unfortunately at this time of year you can't make it to the best viewpoint due to snow. I would recommend stopping and taking a look if it is on your route, but I don't think I'd make a big detour for it. Worth a look if you're passing by!
