Nice little stop overlooking the entire Aso caldera before you go into Aso town.

Best place to view the whole caldera on a clear day. The nearby restaurant is also fantastic, very friendly staff and nice outdoor seating. Highly recommended.

You have to stop here if driving the Yamanami Highway (route 11). It is the best place for a view across Aso. Especially if you are the driver and can’t take in quite as much beauty as your passengers. There is a small carpark, restaurant, shop and vending machine.
