The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a space for dialogue, sponsored by the United Nations since 2005, with the participation of representatives of the Government, the Academy, the Private Sector, the technical community and Civil Society. This is a neutral debate space; information and best practices on topics relevant to the local agenda of Internet Governance are discussed and exchanged, taking into account the international debate. From the result of these debates, decision making in Internet public policies can be initiated, understanding the opportunities, risks and the consensus achieved. The initiative in Paraguay emerged in 2014 as a result of the need for greater national participation at a regional and global level in the Internet Governance Forums. As well as the lack of an adequate space for dialogue and debate on public Internet policies and a National Internet Governance Agenda.
