Staff are friendly and place is clean. My fave place to go prawning in the west. And I love that it’s 24hrs too. They accept cash/nets. :)
There was no signs at entrance that there would not be Bbq pits available. Each patron must rent/own a rod. No sharing allowed The rental rods are flimsy. Even if you broke it at no fault of your own, you'll have to pay 10 for damagin it. Prawns are somewhat half dead most of the time.
In overall, very pleasant experience due to good catch rates and efficient staffing. The highlight would be having a very friendly boss that goes around the ponds to talk to customers or share tips on how to catch prawns better. **This is the key difference from this Prawning location to others as the boss understands that customers would come back whenever they have a good experience or time here. (prawning is an experiential activity)
Boss and staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They treat u like friends and not customers. I'm staying quite far from ATC but its still worthwhile to travel there for the ambience, conducive environment and the friendliness there. The boss and staffs will show u and guide u on the prawning techniques and even Yabby techniques. And make sure u master the skills. They will definitely not let u leave the place empty handed. Although sometimes it might be crowded but the boss and staffs will ensure u have a proper place to sit by adjusting and accommodating. It's definitely a good place and highly recommended. I've been a regular for about 1 month for every Fridays and Weekends. My minimum hour spent there is 5.5hrs each day. And not enough !!!!! If u are regular of the place, you might have seen me before.
A very nice place for prawning and relaxing. Catch are not bad either. Went there a couple of times...and caught a nice amount of prawn. If anybody say never catch any prawn , please check you length before you start. Too short won't reach, too long won't know if it's bitting. So ensure to check you line for the correct measures. And all the best!!!!
When we reach there only to find out each person has to rent a rod to prawn. Been to at least 3 different places to prawn but this is the first time we are told to rent a rod each. Viewing without prawning is not allowed too. Kinda sad so we ended up at other prawning place instead. I think a lot of ppl are not expecting this too. So do take note.
Convenient location, good reception and friendly staff. However I would concur some of fellow reviewers here that it’s really difficult to catch prawn unless you are a seasoned player. I blame this for the over-crowdedness (20 in a 5X4 pond) A lot of people and a lot of noise didn’t help me to relax, honestly. Maybe because it’s weekend but I have been to other places which are larger but with less people. It’s a nice place but I am afraid I won’t return. I would rate it 3 star but give one extra for the good service from their staff!
