After having my first child I was having issues breastfeeding! Due to the pandemic my breastfeeding class had been cancelled. That is when we looked and found AthensBorn Birth Services! Kate was wonderful! She replied quickly and we set up an appointment within a day or two. She was so helpful and was amazing! It was such a relief to this mama! I highly recommend them!! As a new Dad there is so much I'm still learning Becca and Kate gave us each the type of support we needed during the pregnancy and especially during delivery.
Kate and Becca were wonderful supports for me and my partner through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and breastfeeding. Having this doula team for our first baby was the best decision we could have made. We felt very prepared for labor and delivery and received lots of great insight to our many questions! They were especially helpful in navigating pregnancy through the pandemic. We were faced with several challenging decisions at the end of pregnancy and through labor--having Kate and Becca to help us think through our options was so helpful. They never made us feel like there was one right way to do things and always supported our preferences and goals. My labor lasted about 36 hours so we were supported by both Becca and Kate and the transition from one to the other was seamless. Regardless of the kind of birth experience you want or expect, Kate and Becca will support, guide, and empower you through the whole process.
AthensBorn is an incredible team of two lovely ladies who made our first pregnancy and labor/delivery incredible. We had several virtual classes throughout pregnancy including movement and positioning, a breastfeeding class, and just general check ins with others about as far along as we were. Kate attended my birth and made both my husband and I feel so much more comfortable and at ease. She reassured us every step of the way and helped me process everything that was happening. After birth we had our postpartum appointment and we were able to talk through our birth experience and get some breastfeeding advice as Kate is a certified lactation consultant. They were a constant source of knowledge and confidence and we knew we had an amazing team in our corner. My husband repeatedly says they are worth their weight in gold. I could not have done it without them and I recommend their team every chance I get. If you’re on the fence about hiring a doula - DO IT. Hire AthensBorn. You will not regret it.
