The food and service was flat out excellent. We had the red snapper and it was blackened to perfection! The green beans were tender and magical. Braxton was our server and I will request him when I go back. This place deserves 10 stars!

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Cousin had the bacon-wrapped shrimp app and I had the artichoke & crab dip. Both good. My entree was BBQ shrimp & grits...excellent! Maddie was our waitress and was fantastic. Will be back!

Buddy of mine and I stopped in at the Hilltops Grille in Athens for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday Mid Morning. We were wrapping up a pretty good visit to the area and decided to give Hilltop a try. The decor was inviting and the hostesses were super nice, seating us in a timely fashion. Once seated our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink orders, we both opted for a bowl of crab soup to get us started. We got our drinks and soup and placed our main order..we both had the crab cake Benedict with cheese grist and bacon as our sides. The soup was good, thick ,and hearty. I would say that it may have had some real crab in for flavor but the majority was artificial crab(not going to say this absolutely) that aside the soup was good. We shortly got our main plates, now do not take this review to say the food was bad because it was not, let me just say it was not what I would have expected. The crab cakes were a little under-cooked and way heavy on the hot sauce (not hot just hot sauce vinegary). The english muffins were toasted but not warm everything was just kinda thrown up there and a minuscule amount of Hollindaise sauce drizzled atop. The bacon was nothing special but it was good because it was bacon and bacon is good! The grits were I am sorry to say was flavorless and the consistency was thick and pasty. In short aside from the soup the food here was what I expect from a Waffle House or Ihop not bad just not where I thought it would be. The service was super and friendly the food was mediocre, the decor/ambience was good, when in town I will try Hilltop Again to see if anything changes to push this establishment into the 5 star category.

Friendly, nice atmosphere. Good food and drink. Especially nice for middle aged and older folks who don't want to be in a place full of youngsters in this college city.
