The building is amazing but it doesn’t allow public to go in. What’s the purpose of being the national library?

Very nice architecture, not just of the library but of the whole Athenian Trilogy. Unfortunately the library is closed because it was relocated so you can’t go in. There is no information about this, we had to search online.
As much as I will try to describe this beautiful, majestic and great building, I won't be able to give it its right. For tourists, it's more than amazing; it's literally a must visit wherever you are in the world, and the two receptionist ladies outside are amazing, kind and happy! This library is mainly for studying and doing research (very quietly). There are no modern books inside; all of them are so old and contain the history of Greece , and you can't touch them unless you want to do a research. People who want to study should their own laptops, notebooks, or textbooks, etc. to use inside the library.
A neoclassical building Doric order with an impressive double renaissance staircase that houses a part of national library of Greece. It was completed on 1902 and it is the last project of Theophil Hansen under the supervision of Erst Ziller. The statues in the front belong to the donors. You have to be member to have access, but you can enter into the building to see even you are not a member. The main part of National Library have transferred to Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center.
Amazing building but regrettably we can't walk in to see.
It's just great!!! You can subscribe for monthly payment to enjoy a moment there. It's super for work and revising!
This is pretty much center Athens on university street. This is a must see. Although these buildings are not ancient, the art work on and around them is absolutely magnificent. So many statues and reliefs to look at, a veritable playground for the eyes. You will not regret seeing these.
Awesome library with rich history!
