Serving afternoon snacks and dinner, Empire State South has a menu composed of small and large plates. Some of the smaller plates include the beet and ricotta salad with pickled blueberries and pecans, and the always popular farm egg with crispy rice and andouille. The modern spin on Southern traditions continue with the larger plate selections, such as GA trout with a field pea panzanella and roasted chicken with summer succotash and red eye gravy.Empire State South also has a full service coffee bar with artisan selections. Empire State South has become our go to place during the pandemic. The staff is extremely considerate, very safe, and genuinely friendly. The food, as always, is great. And the drinks selection is equally fantastic. We find ourselves 4-5 rounds deep without realizing it! Throw in the outdoor space (heated!) and this is an easy recommend.

Great restaurant! I got the Christmas Eve takeout for four and it was delicious. Arugula salad with apples and blue cheese, prime rib with bordelaise sauce, veggies, and toffee pudding for dessert. Chef Hugh makes carrots taste incredible.

Favorite place to eat. Dinner, brunch, anytime they always have the BEST service and phenomenal food/drinks. We’ve been probably 6 times over the last couple of months (pandemic), and they have always made us feel super safe. The staff consistently wears masks, and do what they can to maintain the best safety and service. Love this place, it’s been our “covid-safe” haven! Overall we’ve found that every restaurant in the Ford fry group maintains this level of “covid-safe” service, and of course, amazing food.

Love this place! Great vibe, fantastic service, outstanding food! We went for Sunday Brunch and each meal was prepared beautifully. The Breakfast is definitely one of my favorites! It's definitely a great southern experience. A little pricey, but I'd say it's worth it! Also, it's a cute place if you want to take your kids because there's space right outside to play bocce ball or just hang out on the synthetic turf.

This is one of our go-to places for anniversary dinners. The food does not disappoint and the staff is well trained for quality service. The pimento cheese and toast is fantastic along with the crispy rice dish that seems to remain on the menu with some changes to the flavors. The menu seems to stem from options that are locally sourced and seasonal. Covid has brought the vibe down slightly, but the tables are spread out into the outdoor space. The bar is not open at this time; however, they have adapted to the times with takeout options. Masks are required throughout the current experience to keep the staff and guests safe. I look forward to returning to ESS.
