I happened to drive by the store while running a few errands. I’m a beginner adult player (on my sixth lesson now) and was happy to see a local business I could go to when the time came for bow rehairs and setups. I decided to pull over and take a quick look, so happy I did. Kim took the time to talk to me and realized I was a beginner with a fairly entry level student violin. She showed me around the store and was even kind enough to ask me if I was comfortable trying a few violins. She was extremely patient and let me play a wide range of instruments from beginner, semi-pro, and even professional levels. I never felt pressured to make a purchase or impulse decision. I believe she genuinely wanted to show me the difference a quality instrument can make in your playing and comfort (and it was an incredible difference from my current student level outfit). They allowed me to take their information to set up a date when I am ready to meet with the staff again and play a few violins more directly fitted to my personal preferences. Great experience and looking forward to playing more of their beautiful high quality instruments when the time comes to upgrade.

A tidy and cozy string shop with the instruments, books and accessories. I wanted to put three stars, but I believe I was dealing with a trainee so that would not have been fair. The process took one hour and thirty minutes to rent a single 16.5 viola and case. Additionally, they had to “find” the case in a shed outback - uhhh! What made this experience frustrating is that there was only one customer ahead of us and he was checking out. Full disclosure - my son and I came in and he was immediately fitted to a viola, and rest. Then time just stopped! We exercised patience until time creeped into another event that we needed to be. We allotted 45 minutes in and out of the shop. However, with a single customer ahead of us going on 1.5 hours with very little movement, that was unacceptable. In other words, a full shop would have warranted more time. How this shop salvaged their rating. They simply acknowledged my frustration, and took my pointed, but respectful disdain to heart to speed the process up and get us out the door. Plus, they threw in some string oil to boot. Clean and crisp customer service saved the rating, but no reason to have a customer stand around as long as we did for a single rental. Do not get my rating wrong, we were treated fair, and with respect. The representative and trainee were knowledgeable, cheery and engaging. We will be returning in the very near future and hope that we have a better experience to upgrade to 5 stars.
My experience with the Atlantic strings violin shop in Melbourne was wonderful. The lady working behind the counter was very respectful, polite, friendly and was able to answer any questions we had. I would recommend the store to anybody with violin needs!!!!!!!!!!!
This is our favorite strings store in Orlando! We have been helped by Ricky on a couple different occasions and he’s the absolute best!!! Seriously! If you need a string instrument...check them out!!!
The service has always above and beyond at this violin shop and today was no exception. We met Kim for the first time and what a knowledgable and pleasant person. She went out of her way to help us in making sure we made the right purchase for our daughter. The entire team is great, but Kim totally exceeded in making sure all of our needs were handled with the utmost care and attention. Thank you Kim and Well done Atlantic Strings.
Marco was absolutely amazing! He spent 2 hours patiently answering all our questions without trying to immediately sell us the most expensive violin in the shop. We explained how much of a novice we were, he learned about us and helped us make a well informed decision on the perfect violin. By the end of our long decision making process (as this was a very big step for us) my fiance and I felt fully confident on our purchase with the reassurance of any further help we might need in our future. Marco went above and beyond and we couldn't be happier, he's truly helped make a dream come true today. Thank you so much, Marco!
