Hard to find, hard to get good information. Staff sent us go the website a lot. Which we're not going to have access to in the woods without wifi. Anyway, walk past the souvenir shop on the right side and you'll find the DOC hidden behind some glass walls.

Kim was amazing so helpful. Got my trivia cards for family overseas- very exciting.

It's located directly next to the Crab Shack on the waterfront (at i-Site) If you follow Google map directions it takes you to a set of mailboxes. If you're wondering why I only rated it one star, check my review on the i-Site location. Oh, you're in for a treat.

Hard to find.. unlike GMaps says, it is integrated in the i-Sites Visitor Centre (took me hours to figure out..). Both offer alot of brochures about walks, seights and things to do in Auckland but also of whole NZ too. Interesting for backpackers to talk to DOC-people about camping and current diseaeses (like kauri dieback)
