The two directors have created a practice where they can combine their skills and experience on complex and demanding projects with a focus on the interests of their clients and hands-on involvement in the design and project delivery. Kay & Keys Architects specializes in commercial projects, especially those requiring attention to detail. The vision statement for our business is “Design for Success”. Our focus is on the interests of our Clients and what creates success for them. Our approach to design is to develop a full understanding of our Clients requirements and aspirations. We keep this understanding to the fore throughout the design and delivery of the project. We have a strong respect for context and a concern to make our buildings fit into their surroundings. We believe in enriching the environment and enhancing the appreciation that people have of their surroundings. Our interest is in making spaces for people rather than creating objects. In pursuit of this we create our designs around the perspective of a persons experience and the understanding of how space can be used and enjoyed. We aim to create designs which have classic qualities. We place high importance on careful detailing, buildable construction and thorough documentation. We aim to design buildings that can be built efficiently and will last and serve their owners well over time. The Directors take a close interest in all aspects of the project from the delivery to the success of the end product. We understand the need for the competent management of the projects throughout their life and apply a proactive approach. In our view managing the delivery of the project is as essential as design quality in making the project a success.
