In 2007 Vaughan entered the home audio segment of the consumer electronics industry when he was headhunted to be CEO of Eastern HiFi Group. His appointment was part of a restructure plan for the ailing company, Vaughan quickly identified the strength of the Wholesale arm of the business and developed a plan create a specialist audio visual distribution business. Vaughan worked with a group of stakeholders including the late Ian Urquhart of Christchurch to resurrect Avalon Pacific from the failed Eastern HiFi Group and the outcome was Avalon Audio which was established in February 2010. Today Avalon Audio drives the audio segment of the consumer electronics industry and has forged highly successful relationships with its key trading partners.
