I've used Thrifty NZ for short term rentals and long term rentals on both the north island and south island. In all cases I've dealt directly with their sales and customer service personnel. I found their prices to be very competitive and their service frictionless. Whenever I had a question or concern, it was immediately addressed, all with smile. They make it easy to like Thrifty!

We booked through the Rental Cars app - which I do NOT recommend. Thrifty were pretty decent though and despite our car being worse for wear we enjoyed it and it got us where we needed to be. Definitely worth the price considering it was less than 60 for 3 and a half days plus 70 full cover so would easily choose them again.

Pre booked with thrifty online but when got there you have to be careful cause the last day was only booked till 8 am which must be there default for the last day we have never struck with other companions if booked for that day should be that whole day they charged us over 100 to change to 4pm that same day sounded cheep but ended up costing more, would NEVER use them again

Had a terrible experience with Thrifty Auckland Airport - they claimed I had damaged the car but we had taken a video of the entire vehicle when we returned the vehicle and there is no damage. The photos they provided of the damage were taken a few days after the vehicle returned and in a different location from where we returned the vehicle, meaning that it had been driven after us. Thrifty have yet to return my 250 hold for the rental.
