My husband spent 9 days in this hospital. He saw several specialists. The care he received was excellent. Having been in several hospitals, it was wonderful to have all of his problems diagnosed and treated at one hospital. The staff was efficient and caring. The nurses were excellent. The doctors took time to answer all of our questions. When we left, we had a positive plan for his ongoing care. We were very pleased with our experience at Augusta University Medical Center.

Overall, I am so very grateful for the staff and the care I received. I got written instructions when I left as well. After they got COVID tested, my close family (1or2) were allowed to be in my room with me. I was in fairly bad shape and making messes for the nursing staff, not on purpose, but they were so very kind and encouraging. It can be horribly embarrassing to be betrayed by your own body and have to watch others clean up your mess for days. They were always gentle, kind, quick, and efficient. I highly recommend this hospital unless you do not want to be part of the learning process for medical students. That can be hard for some. I enjoyed it and learned from it. One thing, I wish I could have at least gotten Tylenol sooner. As a person with osteonecrosis who had spent the previous two days unconscious on the floor, I stinkin’ hurt. I have my own pain meds and wasn’t there to swindle more. It was not the hospital’s fault about the floor thing. That happened at home.

The Dr’s are great. With this COVID going on financial services have been hurrible. My insurance didn’t covered Endoscopy which I had a high deductible And didn’t tell me beforehand and since they didn’t want to work with me in deductible payments that I could afford they sent it out to a collections agency. What kind of hospital is this when is students doing most of the work. Now I have to start looking for other doctors that have compassion and work with patients that have to make payments in order to be treated. I’ve done this with AU before and never missed a payment unfortunately this is not the way to go. Who’s in charge of AU now. Be careful and ask questions before you get treated.
