I went to the VA office to set up health insurance for myself after getting out of the military. When I first came in to the building, I was greeted by a man at the front desk, who seemed friendly enough. I was told that I had two people in front of me, so I sat down and waited. Then I waited some more and waited some more, until I eventually just left. I don't know how many workers they have there, but I waited an hour and a half behind only two people and never got helped. I also never was told, \Sorry about the wait\ or \Someone should be able to help you shortly\. I just patiently waited until I gave up. I am now under the assumption that I was in the wrong building because I am a veteran, but they did nothing to help me. I'm pretty sure it was just an old men's social club since all the old guys acted like buddies talking about random, inconsequential information. I would recommend going to any other office that would help because there is no way you could possibly wait any longer with only two people in front of you. At worst, the other offices are equally as bad. I'll just figure out the information on my own now.

I can also attest to the inefficiency at this office. I got there at 11:20 to get a form so that I could get the veteran status put on my license. This requires about 3 minutes of their time. I hand them a copy of my DD-214 (which they already have) and they sign a sheet of paper saying I’m legit. Bam! Done. 1 guy ahead of me in line and he leaves within about 15 minutes. So here I sit until somebody asks me at 12:30 if I’m being helped. I tell him why I’m there, and he tells me that the one guy in the entire place that does that job has gone to lunch, and won’t be back until after 1. Everyone gives lip service to veterans services, but nobody really cares. Could somebody have said “Hey, he went to lunch, do you want to wait around an hour?” (Or more ostensively) So like the other gentleman who commented, I left. I bet this happens a lot there.
