Skip the hours wait at Franklin's and get the best sliced brisket in Austin, Texas here at la Barbecue. This is where us locals get our BBQ fix. While you'll find a line here too, don't be afraid as it moves fast and you can have a beer while you wait. After bouncing around a few trailer parks, they've found a home in a little quick mart. It may not be a traditional restaurant environment, but this is where you go to get no-nonsense, Texas BBQ. Love it.

If you can, try a little of everything when you’re here because their menu is that good and that recommendation also extends to their side dishes. This spot doesn’t get as much play nationally like the other joint in Austin but this spot is definitely on par with them. So was really pleased to have been recommended this place during my short stay in the area last year.
First time to visit this restaurant. We order pork ribs, sausage potatoes salad, macaroni and cheese and brisket sandwich. Everything was good specially the pork ribs,falling off the bone , potato salad tasty too. The only bad thing if you are handicapped like me, is hard to seat outside becuase of the benches and tables, but still was a good experience. Will be back.
Austin B.B.Q Spot We ordered on-line & pick up. We ordered 1 lb of each (brisket, pork ribs, regular and sausages, includes 2 different sauces, bread, pickles and onions. We also requested extra lean and more crust on our brisket. (pickles & onion go well the meats) Ribs - The meat fell right off the bone and melted in our mouths. Super tender and juicy even after reheating the next day. Not too salty! Sausage (Jalapeño & Regular) - Amazing sausage we ever had!. Very good quality meat blend well. Both links were our favorite as it had the right amount of kick from the spice. Smoked just right! Brisket (Extra crust) - Best brisket. Cooked to perfection. No sauce needed flavorful all the way through and not too salty. Great quality meat and the crust to helped to seal the flavors. La Barbecue is a must try as they're very consistent with everything in quality and taste! Definitely go back and we can't wait to try Franklin's B.B.Q. to compare
La Barbecue is truly an Austin gem. Order ahead like everyone suggests and then find a spot on the patio to dig in to all the delicious offerings. I will say the coleslaw was a bit to spicy for me but everyone else in my party couldn’t get enough. The meat is cooked to perfection and the rest of the sides were absolutely amazing. They have plenty of beer on tap and the tons more to choose from(beer, wine, hard seltzer’s etc..)in the store.
