Great little store with all the necessities. They even have premade injera!! Friendly, hardworking staff. We didn't get to try the cafe, but will definitely try next time.

The only Ethiopian store in Austin, and if you are looking for fresh Injera then this is your place.

Wow! What an Amazing, Authentic Ethiopian/Eritrean Grocery Shop & Cafe! The Owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, besides being a superb chef! This is the only true Habesha / Ethiopian grocery store in the Greater Austin Area. Here you will find Injera (a traditional Ethiopian bread), Teff (ancient grain), Organic Green Ethiopian Coffee, Organic Roasted Ethiopian Coffee Beens, a Host of Ethiopian (Indian, Arabic) Spices; Lentils, Shiro (a spiced powder made from chickpeas & lentils); Electric Mitad (a Large, Flat Heatable Plate used to cook injera - similar to a comal and tawa)...Ethiopian clothing and Ethiopian Art! We had the Tibs We’t (an Ethiopian fajitas style stew finished in Ethiopian butter, onions, jalapeños and berbere - Ethiopian red chili powder) and it was fantastic! Be prepared to eat with your hands (it’s an Ethiopian custom to wash your hands before eating) & be careful not to eat your fingers, because it’s official. Other so-called Ethiopian restaurants in the area fall way short on quality and flavor. The owner is very professional, progressive and customer service oriented - this is a business that I’ll definitely be supporting!
