We have just finished a 3 night stay in the Shepherds Hut and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life! The area is absolutely stunning, even with it raining for about 24 hours solid it was still beautiful and the log burner in the hut kept us nice and toasty. We found plenty to do in the area and enjoyed just relaxing in the evenings, reading our books, with no distractions of the outside world. Having no electricity was honestly a blessing! A true escape from day to day life. The Inshriach gin is one of the best we’ve ever had, Walter and Lizzy are lovely hosts, and I loved seeing the chickens, dog Monty and the local wildlife. We will definitely be coming back some day, can’t recommend highly enough!!

Thanks Inshriach for a great Ginfest with great music, open fire Pizza and Gundren's cakes and gin cocktails and the summer weather!
My girlfriend and i have just returned from a 3 night stay in the Shepherds Hut to celebrate 10yrs together and to do a lot of walking including climbing Ben Nevis. The shepherds hut looked great in the pictures when we were booking, but to arrive there, wet, hungry and tired from Ben Nevis and to see it in the flesh it was just amazing. So basic but yet so brilliant. And the log burner kept it so toasty. Set in a secluded area off the beaten track, such a peaceful, idyllic and adventurous place. Such a beautiful place has been created here and we've fallen in love with it! And Walter, the host, great guy to meet with all his chickens and friendly dog! Already planning our next trip....can't wait! And even the surrounding areas such as Aviemore, wonderful people, so friendly and welcoming. So much to do round and about too. So depressing to get home!!
One of my favorite spots in Scotland. Always worth the trip up there both for all the beautiful glamping spots, but just a much for the hospitality of Walter and his family. Highly highly recommend.
16 Drake family members met up at inshrich in May 2017. It was a fabulous stay on many levels. The weather shone, the cook, recommend by Walter did a fabulous job looking after us all. It's an endearing place set in a bit of a time warp. It used to belong to my husband's grandfather so many memories for him and his siblings and cousins. It had not really changed in all that time. I hope it never does. Though they have a shower on ground level now though not on our visit. Hope we can go back for another bigger family gathering soon....try the Glamping side....who knows. Probably won't get a week of magic weather again!
