This place has always been closed when we walked by. It was open today and we tried a taco. We decided on their 3 taco deal so each of us got a taco. We ordered and the food came out pretty fast. It came with 3 tacos, a lime for each, and a green sauce. The chicken was moist. The onions and cilantro was nice with it. I felt that even with the sauce, onions, and cilantro it still lacked flavor. We will be back though to try a burrito.

Here is how you have a great evening at Avila. Order their nachos and go to the beach. I'd ask for extra guacamole and extra sour cream. I'd order the chicken. Get the nachos, walk to the beach. Sit down, eat nachos with your kids, while they play. They are huge. I recommend doing this at sunset in the summer. It is a great way to finish your work week. Additionally, on a Friday, you can avoid the food lines at the Farmer's market, which you all should do as well, because it's a great start to the weekend. UPDATE: Went to Avila Farmer's Market on a Friday, went to get some Nachos, Taco Shack was randomly closed for the day. This can make it difficult for my "perfect end of the week" formula
Wish they would invest in better quality meat. Fish taco was SO disappointing and dry. Best thing was the chips and salsa. Service seriously took forever. They send out one item at a time.
The restaurant has excellent curb appeal, beautiful little plaza and the shop is well decorated. Maybe I arrived during a difficult time for the staff, nothing seemed to go well and the staff seemed ill equipped to resolve issues, efficiently and professionally. An alias is printed onto the receipts, it’s hard to know who I was actually speaking with, “nightrider”, the cashier was incredibly rude. Service was slower than average, I waited 30 mins and was informed 2 of our 5 items hadn’t even been started. Half of our party had food growing cold while we waited on two very basic orders. I very politely approached the cashier to verify the order was placed correctly, he didn’t apologize or seek a way to resolve the concern, he immediately said, “oh, do you want a refund?”. I took the refund and left. On the way out, I overheard others were also having issues with orders and his lack of customer service skills. The food looked great but I will never return to know for sure. This could be a great place if the staff had better attitudes toward the customers. Hopefully this post will help the company develop.
The food and prices were on point. There was a lack of free water, but I had a beer so that didn't really affect me but I took notice. Taco Shack was fairly busy but they got our order out quickly. Also the restaurant was very clean despite being next to the beach. I'll likely visit again.
Good food. Had awful service though. Eyerolls, rude comments & wrong orders while we were the only people there. Wont be back.
Steak tacos no flavor. Fish taco's need more seasonings and the frys are not even close to what you would call a Mexican fry.
Always closed in the middle of the busy days. We are done trying. Ate here once on Fourth of July weekend last year and loved the food. Have twice tried to eat there again for lunch since and it has been closed. In fact, we tried today at nearly 2pm. No hours of operation were posted. At least five other groups of people came by to get tacos at the same time we were there. All I can say is that it must be nice to have a business in a prime beach location and never feel the need to open it. I'd like to have that kind of money, myself!
