We had crab feast. The portions are incredible. We couldn't finish them all. Service is super good. Food is exceptionally good. Onsan is great. Worth a visit, definitely will go back again. Recommended.

Nice quiet hotel when we visited. Reception was dated but overall pretty clean. Rooms are spacious and food was brilliant.
Excellent Onsen, excellent food (especially echizen crab), excellent services.
Great relaxed spa This hotel has large, clean and illuminated spa. There is open air bus and sauna too. You can relax very much. And there is large room. I can recommend this hotel strongly.
The best hotel for traveller to enjoy the old japanese home
My wife and i rented a 550.00 dollar room with hot bath for one night. Dinner was excellent. Beds were only futons on the floor.. a little disappointing for 550.00. But as an international traveler Coffee is important and it is horrible here... Next morning, breakfest drinks were not prepared by schedule 8:00am. The place is clean and staff is extremely nice. Maybe my experience was a fluke.
I stayed at a western style room in Yutorogi-Tei Annex. The room facilities are very modern, the open-air bath is excellent with adjustable temperature setting. The public bath is new & spacious. Because we stayed at Yutorogi-Tei, we can use another indoor public bath which is also good. Yuuzen Kaiseki dinner was served in dining restaurant 'Yuuzen'. All dishes were presented fabulously & tasted really good. We are very delighted that the Executive Chef introduced to us the dishes himself & the owner of the ryokan also came and greeted us. It is very rare you can find such high quality Kaiseki with such a reasonable price. During my whole stay we can feel the hospitality of the staff. I would definitely recommend Grandia Housen to people who are looking for a very high quality ryokan to stay at Awara Onsen. I would stay here again next time I visit Fukui.
Love the onsen and delicious food. Only thing that bothers me is the use of elevators when there are a lot of customers.
