We visited this restaurant as part of a bike tour. What an amazing experience. Fresh okonomiyaki made right at the table. Gorgeous presentation. Great sashimi and fantastic service. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet Yuki, the owner's son. Possibly the nicest person I've ever met. You will not regret dining here. Also a great cozy place to go for drinks with friends!

We ate a 5-course dinner here after our bike tour around Kyoto. The restaurant is run by the guide's family. Very welcoming and kind people. They spoke English and they had the menu in English as well, which was very helpful. Yuki explained the food as they arrived. The food was delicious! One of our friends, who normally doesn't like ramen, loved it at Awazu! The space is cozy on tatami mats. We would definitely eat here again if we're in Kyoto!
Wonderful family run Japanese restaurant. We ate here at end of a bike tour run by their son. Tour was great and the friendly atmosphere and great food were good cap to the day. Dad is the chef and takes great care to make sure each dish is both tasty and visually appealing in traditional Japanese style. We liked the food so much we ate here again in our last day in Kyoto.
