A rare and special rose makes this a must see location for enthusiasts. Ayabe Gunze Square Rose Garden (that's a mouthful) isn't particularly big, but it is located in central Ayabe, not that far from the train station and some pretty excellent restaurants (see Ayabe Tsumugi, or Chatsubo Yoshida). Among the hundred variety of roses is Anne's Rose, named for Anne Frank and grown from seeds given to Ayabe City by Anne Franks father to promote peace worldwide. Ayabe is well-known as a city of peace, and this rose garden, with its circle within circle paths offers visitors great shots of roses to the backdrop of Japanese heritage buildings (the surrounding heritage buildings have been converted into museums that explain the history, present day, and future of silk culture and textiles in the area). There is also a gift shop selling local products and a cafe right next to the rose garden for people wanting to spend more time. The roses are usually in bloom in June and October. The rose garden is open to the public even when the museums/cafe/shop are closed.

ちょうどいい広さのバラ園…。手作り感に親しみを感じます。平日はゆっくり楽しめます。フラットなので車椅子や年配の方も楽だと思います。

６月前半のバラが一番の見頃とのこと。来年来れるのを楽しみにしたいです。 地域の方々と協力して作っているのが素敵。 入場も駐車場も無料でのんびりできるのが良かったです。博物館は予想より見ごたえあって楽しめました。 特産品の、お醤油のラスクが美味しい！ お土産にもう少し買っても良かった…。

無料のバラ園なので近くの方なら３くらいつけてもいいのではないかと思いますが、ボランティアでお手入れされているバラ園で規模も大きくないので一度見たら十分という感じのバラ園です。 山にありますが6月中旬だと見頃は終わっていましたのでもう少し早めに見に行くといいでしょう。でもその時期にここに来るなら他のところに行ったほうがいいかなと思いました。

春のバラ祭りを見に行きました。 京都市の市街地からバイクで約2時間の場所にあります。無料の駐車場があって、なんと入場料も無料です。地域の方々がボランティアで花のお世話をされているとのこと。 時期的に満開まであと少しでしたが、それでも綺麗なバラを楽しめました。 また、隣接する特産品売り場で買い物も楽しめます。 行き帰りの山道のドライブも兼ねて、ちよっとしたお出掛け先にオススメです。

ここは、5月２０日末が見ごろですが、とても綺麗です。綾部市民の方も参加して育てたバラを無料で鑑賞させて頂き、幸せな気持ちになりました。 隣のグンゼ博物苑も見ごたえあり、あやべ特産館で喫茶して、家族で有意義な1日が過ごせました。 10月末まで秋のバラ祭り、2019.10.27の写真を13枚追加してみます。秋に訪れたのは初めてでしたが、春の１／３程度の開花量ですが綺麗でした。
