5-star food, 5-star atmosphere Filling lunch in a former teahouse! Chatsubo Yoshida is definitely in my top three for restaurants in central Kyoto by the Sea. For 1500 yen, the lunch set comes with a multi-dish meal with a huge variety of locally prepared and grown foods, along with main dishes that range from chicken, to fish, to hamburger (depending on the day - for dietary restrictions check ahead of time). They also make a handmade matcha (or your choice of coffee or black tea), served with small sweets and (usually) local seasonal fruit as well. The atmosphere is also incredible, with old tea jars and boxes beautifully displayed on the walls, and antiques and unique architecture throughout the restaurant. There are tables, a private room, a tatami area, and another private room in the back of the restaurant. I have been here at least eight times. The set meal varies each time I go, but it is always delicious. The owners are also really friendly and welcoming. It is conveniently located in downtown Ayabe, walking distance from the train station, Ayabe Rose Garden (Gunze Square), and Shorekiji Temple.

落ち着いた店内。美しい器や漆器。季節を載せたおばんざい。ご飯のおかわりも有り。ゆっくりと過ごせる。
駐車場が狭く危ない。周辺にコインパークもなくやや不便。ランチタイムは混んでて、店にはいっても店の人はいつまでたっても応対する気配がなく、仕方なく諦めて店を出た。また機会あればランチしたいけど今度は入れるかな。
一品一品丁寧に作られた小鉢が美味しいです。地元のお野菜を中心に作られています。お抹茶も毎回違う器を選んでくださいます。畳もあるので小さい子供連れのときは予約をおすすめします。
装飾品も見事です落ち着きます ご年配の方々がされてます。ご了承を。。。。 ランチは一種類です。手作りでほっこりします。元お茶屋さんだったのでお抹茶もあります又伺います
店主の優しさが、ランチの美味しさに出ている 器がレトロの雰囲気で、店内も落ち着きがありゆっくりいただけます
