The BEST mezze I’ve had yet in Turkey and I’ve been up and down the coast for a month! Lovely and friendly chef and owner and of course street cats! The vibe is great and the food is so elevated and fresh!

This is the best 'meyhane' of this scale that I have visited in Turkey. The food is tasty and fresh, made by very capable cooks (whom we met personally, as they sometimes bring food to the table themselves and answer your questions about your culinary experience). The place is all super clean -- especially for someone like me who does not visit public bathrooms if they can help it. All personnel is so very friendly, also queer-friendly, I must say, from personal experience. They really are a customer-oriented bunch. Considering the service and the food you're having, it's great value for your money -- that said, it's very affordable even compared to places that serve average food. You should definitely try the vegan version of 'çıtır kabak' (crispy courgettes), 'kuru cacık' (yogurt and cucumber salad), and 'uykuluk' (sweetbread, for carnivores). Everything else is also absolutely yummy as well, especially if you like Turkish 'rakı'. We have sent quite a few friends over, and they all came out thinking that the evenings they spent there were the highlight of their holidays. Thank you, Tamam Meyhane, for giving us our best 'meze' and 'rakı' time in Ayvalık. We'll miss you dearly, and hope to come back whenever we're nearby!
