They have a good selection of craft beer, though not all are available. Even their imported bottled beers were not available. The place is unique having a magic-themed bar and you have to check their toilet and be surprised! Food is also great as i consider them truly beer-matched. Though the choices are limited, so if you are looking for heavy meals, you can consider the other restaurants near the bar. Overall, a good place to hang out.
Finally able to visit this place after several attempts but closed. The place is smaller than what I had expected though. I like the vibe of the place, cozy and instagrammable. Feels like you've been transported to a different time and place. Good customer service. Price is reasonable. First ever to have tasted a well-crafted beer albeit pricey. For me, the highlight of the experience is their bathroom. Those frames are creepy! Never had an unpleasant urinating experience. Though it's quite fun. I would hold the surprise the mirror has. It's for you to find out.
I really wanted to like this place but can't yet. It's really cool inside, all the doors disguised by books - that's the good part, now the bad; it was really cold in there, 2 a/c units in a small place blasting out a sub zero gale, I couldn't stay because I didn't have a hat, coat and scarf with me. The beers - they didn't have the beer I wanted unfortunately so I ordered another - it had the consistency of gravy, the lad behind the bar told me it's supposed to be like that! Absolute nonsense, having worked for a brewery for many years, if one of our brewers had brewed that and pronounced it to be good beer, he would have been fired on the spot! Train your staff properly! The 3rd beer I ordered and the only one I got to drink was insipid. I didn't eat as it was too cold to wait. Please improve, you could be a great bar. Its unmarked outside and the door is difficult to find but it's right on Google maps.
Awesome Pub with illusionary doors and magical paintings and Cozy. Tried their 4 kinds of craft beers. I like their Torniquet Hefeweissen and Specter ale.
My Happy Place Since I Returned to Bacolod City To me, The Trapdoor is "A Must" and a "Top 10" when visiting Bacolod. I spent more than 27 years of my adult life abroad, most of that in Germany and no small part in the United States. I made it a point to avoid mainstream beers and to make it worth my while to search out and experience the multitude of craft-beers and microbreweries where ever I travelled in Europe and the United States. Needless to say, I would barely touch any of the mainstream beers here in the Philippines, even the imported ones. The Trapdoor's craft-beers more than suffice. In fact, I can count them among the best I've had and they are comparable in taste and quality to the stuff in Europe and the U.S. Though I'm not an expert, I've tasted enough to say "I'm snobbish" and experienced. I might even dare to say that beer connoisseurs may even look back someday and say that the Illusion Brewery, along with the couple of other local micro-brewers, made history by putting Bacolod City on the map when it comes to craft-beers in the Philippines (special mention to the craft-brewers in Cebu and the Capital Region). The speak-easy isn't cheap by Filipino standards, but it’s worth the experience if you have visitors not local to the area. Just go and visit the Trapdoor. It's a different experience altogether....Craft-Beer, Good Food, and MAGIC! Mike P

This is the best pub ever in Bacolod. It has nice beer, good atmosphere and friendly staffs. It always puts me in a good mood whenever I visit here. Highly recommend this awesome place. I love Trapdoor!!
