Baijnath Temple is situated in the pilgrim town of Baijnath in Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. It is believed to have been built in 1204 by two local traders named Ahuka and Manyuka. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vaidyanath - the Lord of physicians. According to the inscriptions on the temple structure, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva existed here before the construction of the current structure. The sanctum sanctorum has a Shiva lingam. Images are carved into and on the walls and in niches on the exterior. Two inscriptions, engraved on stone slabs in the main hall in Sharada and the local Pahari language in Takri script, provide details about the construction of the temple by the traders in 1204. These inscriptions are in praise Lord Shiva, the presiding deity.

I have been to this temple 3 time and unlike other temple you dont have to walk that much to reach this temple as this is situated near by the road and it has parking facility as well It speaks of very high technology which was in force in ancient times .the carving of the temple is exquisite .the structure of the temple is worth a close look no entry ticket or camera charges but videography is prohibited inside the temple It has spectacular view of himalayas mountains in the back . the temple is of lord shiva and it has a old shivling of shiva inside it All n all very good temple and found it well maintained as well

It's an antique temple, which has been restored. It is amply evident due to mismatched and newly built structures. The arrangements are good. In February 2021, the temple pond was empty. The adjoining river has been polluted..
