Great set of rocks for a scramble and some views, and a steep walk up from the road below (though easier from a smaller road nearby). Can be combined with a walk to the Cratcliffe Crags. I'm not sure how it got to be associated with Robin Hood!
Visited here as part or a circular walk from the village of Elton. I'd never heard of Robin Hood's Stride before, but found it a wonderful place, expansive views over the beautiful countryside, and well worth exploring and scrambling the rocks. Looks popular with rock climbers; a few were practicing on the vertical rock faces. There's a hermit's cave to visit not far off the Limestone Way.
The Peak District is full of great walks. If you are near Youlgreave then Robin Hood's Stride is a good reason to get your walking boots on.
Really nice walk, decent climbing even for a 8 and 6 year old. View are great
