A great place to taste the Rauchbier, food quality is nice and quantity as well. Prompt staff and the important factor of personal attention by Hans, who'll start a friendly conversation and won't mind tasting wine with you! Loved this place!

The food was pretty good, service could be a bit better
The restaurant is rather famous in Bamberg and i guess it is alright. The service was very nice and rather fast. Ideally we would have wanted a table outside but there was nothing available. Sat inside but then nobody would actually care to tell us if a table outside became available. The food on the other hand...quite weird. I had “coq au vin” - which was, in fact, a Chicken soup. Sorry, but that thing was nothing like what coq au vin should be. It was somehow tasty but...as chicken soup. And the “grünkohl” reminded me a chewing gum gone wrong. It was super sticky and had an unpleasant texture. The pork was delicious though. Give it is try but stay away from the chicken soup
Excellent ambience and extensive beer list. The outdoor cafe is a fun place to take a break during a visit to the city.
