The facility’s infection control practices were not up to standard. Staff did not clean hands between physical interaction with clients nor did they clean equipment between client use. Even with enhanced infection control recommendations due to COVID concerns staff did not always record a temperature or ask basic screening questions to ensure that it was safe to proceed with the appointment. Administrative staff were not helpful. They sent out-of-network payable PO Box claim information to my in-network healthcare plan and did not follow through on return calls or e mails as promised. Most importantly I was not impressed with my physical therapist. She would often forget the stretches we had previously completed or ask me what we did or needed to do. Furthermore, she did not educate on proper form while teaching me exercises. Most of the sessions I was working directly with a first semester PT student, not Banner Physical Therapy staff. My injury was caused, in part, due to skeletal abnormalities so my goal for PT was to prevent further injury through strength training. My PT only included stretches into my care plan for pain relief, despite my goal of incorporating strength training. Lastly, I was never offered complementary therapies such as ice, heat, taping, massage, traction or dry needling. Ultimately, I initiated care with another PT Clinic. Switching clinics and therapists further highlighted the stark shortcomings of Banner Physical Therapy.
