I was diagnosed in Vall de'Hebron with BPD after attempting suicide. The staff took it very seriously and many time I went to Emergency for suicidal thoughts and was taken in immediately. Only one nurse seemed to think I was not worth it and stabbed me very hard with a drip needle. I slept one night in the psych ward and everyone was very kind. I had treatment for years there before we moved and the psychologist and psychiatrist were both wonderful. I would advise that you call before your scheduled psych appointments, as there were some changes in schedules and I sometimes went there and my psychiatrist was on duty in the emergency ward. The psych ward here is the best I have ever encountered.

If you are lucky enough to end up in this hospital- count your blessings. Some of the best customer service I have ever had anywhere. I have had some miserable experiences in my private hospital and was referred to this hospital for a specific reason. I am so happy I was. The nurses and doctors were so kind and accommodating. My Spanish is very basic and instead of shaming me like my private hospital does, they were patient to let me try to communicate and happy to speak English or find someone who could. As well, they listened to me and respected my wishes for my treatment, even if they preferred to do things another way. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the food was good. I am vegan, once again, instead of giving me a lecture on how bad it is and rolling their eyes like my private hospital nutritionist, they actually brought me delicious food- tofu burgers, spinach, and potatoes! I was shocked! I will always be grateful for the kindness and professionalism of the staff. My only question now, is how do I get another referral to this hospital for any future health needs??
